"Sixth Mass Extinction"

Go to crf-usa.org. Scroll over the tab labeled "Free Lessons" and click on Bill of Rights in Action. Scroll down until you find the heading, Environmental Issues Summer. Then click on the current issue: "Are We Headed for a Sixth Mass Extinction?". Read the article and answer the following questions.
1.    What do you think are the most important steps the United States should be taking to prevent species extinction? Why?
2.    The subheading The Human Impact Today lists some effects that humans have on the environment. Which one do you believe most greatly affects animals and their habitats? Why?
3.    What are some ways that people can reduce their impact on the environment?  What can you specifically do?
Go to www.epa.gov and scroll over the Laws and Regulations tab. Click on Laws and Executive Orders. Then answer the following question.
4.    Choose one example of legislation where the primary focus is the protection of animals or their habitats and cite it with proper MLA format (You can use Noodlebib!). How did it achieve its goal? What steps did it take to stop the endangerment of the environment? (Please try to pick a law that not many classmates have written about)
5.    Read all of your classmates’ posts and respond to at least one.
